Mall Decorations - Kagay-an Festival

Cagayan de Oro City celebrates Kagay-an Festival every month of August, the Feast of patron saint San Agustin and during these days malls are the busiest place in town. Gaisano, Lim Ket Kai and SM are the three major malls in the city offering their own version of mall sale and other activities. And who would miss the main attraction, good for the eyes colorful mall decorations.

My husband and I are two of the thousands of people who find time to visit the mall and grabbed the opportunity to shop on sale items. While doing our shopping spree our camera will always accompany us to be able to capture ordinary and special moments encounter anytime anywhere.

And this time my camera pointed to...Mall decorations at Lim Ket Kai Atrium...

ooopsss.. sorry for the blurry effect...toinkz!.. hmmmm.. actually I wasn't able to get the right setting...

Layout & Scrapping for a Lesser Printing Cost

I started doing simple scraps (if you can call it one) sometime in 2007. I did it just because I wanted printouts of all our pictures taken using a digital camera.
With hundreds and thousands of pictures stored only in the pc hard drive it is very in convenient for me to look back all the photos and reminisce the happy memories. And in case the hard drive will crash everything will be gone.

So I did layouts combining 2 or more pictures and had it print on a 5x7 photo paper.

Some of my simple and hurriedly done layouts.
These were the days of my 2-year stay in Metro Manila.
...

That's me enjoying a free overnight stay with friends at Trader's Hotel in Pasay City. I won this privilege during the Shangrila Hotel Badminton Tournament in 2007.

Home to Bukidnon - Newborn Kids

A lucky day for us because we're able to witness 2 new kids (baby goat) being born.

The doe licks off the mucous membrane that enveloped her newborn kids, to help them breathe properly and survive in this changing world.

Home to Bukidnon Part 2 - Dragonflies

Strolling around Jessie's home backyard, I noticed these two colored tiny little creatures, a yellow green and a blue dragonfly.

Also known as yanma, dragonfly is a type of insect belonging to the order Odonata a suborder of Epiprocta. This creatures has large multifaceted eyes, two pairs of transparent wings and has an elongated body.

What else can a photography addict wannabe do but to point to its direction and capture their landing moments.

Shot this using canon 1000d dslr with sigma telephoto lens 70-300m apo macro dg.

Home to Bukidnon Part 2 - Bird Watching

I woke up at 6am on Saturday morning (a very early waking time for me on a weekend), went outside and savored the cold mountain breeze after a whole night of rain.

I noticed these group of small birds resting on an electrical wire infront of my husband's parents home.
No time to lose I hurriedly went back inside the house and grab my camera and started my shooting on anything activity for the day.

Using a Sigma telephoto lens I was able to catch these bunch of little birds relaxing after their tiresome flights.

Home to Bukidnon Part 1 - Sisig for Lunch

First installment of our Bukidnon Home Travel...

Another long week-end, another special holiday last Friday August 21, 2009 so Jessie and I decided to spend our holidays at their hometown in Bukidnon.

We departed Iligan City at 8:30am last Friday August 21, 2009 on board RTMI Bus with a much discounted rate of P50 going to Cagayan de Oro City. Arrived at 10:30am at Bulua Terminal headed straight to Agora (Bus Terminal going East Bound) and there we had our early lunch in one of the carenderias (eatery).

We ordered “sisig” and “ampalaya guisado” with egg, and of course rice. A sisig is a Philippine dish made from parts of pig’s head, liver and usually seasoned with kalamansi and chili peppers while a an ampalaya guisado is a bitter gourd sautéed with egg with seasoning.

hmmmm.. delicious!

Power Transmission Tower

During my college days, I couldn’t appreciate the importance of power system. I couldn’t even identify a high voltage transmission lines because I never seen one before until I’ve graduated and worked on a power provider/transmission company.

Today, whenever I look at high voltage power transmission tower holding the heavy transmission cable I appreciate its value to the society.

It stands the test of Time.

Buterflies Batch 1

Back in Jardin de Zamboanga, I was able to capture some of the butterflies adopted and protected by the city government. Pointing my camera on them and capture their movements, their moments was a very exciting and most enjoyable that I have done.

I wish I can shoot more of them and how I wish I have a much better camera lens.

I wish I can own a super macro lens so I can go deeper, more detailed.
