On my last SWF, I have shared to you the view of the sky taken while on flight from Cagayan de Oro to Manila, this time I'm showing the skies I've seen taken on my return flight last Friday Oct. 23, 2009.

I took this shot using also my casio exilim point and shot camera while the plane is taking its final approach to Cagayan de Oro City.

Chicken Shawarma

The company I work at has future plan to transfer SO Mindanao Regional Office from Iligan City to Cagayan de Oro City. The new management wants an accessible and more secured location for the Control Center so they are pursuing the plan and targeted to finished the project by December next year.

Just in case I’ll still be around by December this year after the individual evaluation of employee competence, I’ll be included on the number of employees to be relocated in Cagayan de Oro City. So just in case, my husband and I decided to purchase a piece of land in CDO and plan to settle there in the future.

October 17, 2009 Jes and I went for site viewings of the prospect lot in an exclusive newly develop subdivision near CDO airport together with Jen & his husband of Robinson’s Land. And at the end of the day we decided to procure the prospect piece of land, a corner lot on Fresno Parkview Homes. We paid for the reservation fee and will be paying the rest on 24-months amortization.

Maybe two years from now with God’s will and graces we can build our new home there and start another a new life in CDO. Crossfingers!

After the transaction and before going back to Iligan we had our snacks at Turquoise Turkish Restaurant in SM Cagayan and ordered our new favorite ‘CHICKEN SHAWARMA” whew! what a delicious meal.

Monochrome Entry # 1 - Lady Duck

While doing my blog walking I discovered another photo theme that interest me that is the Monochrome Weekly Theme. I explored the site and seen so many beautifully shot monochromes, so I decided to join the fun and share mine photos too.

So as my first entry, here is a lady duck enjoying the fresh scent of the lake. This photo was taken near our home in Zamboanga City. I was familiarizing my camera then and luckily got this shot. I did some experiments on the picture and as a result a very charming monochrome, my first ever monochrome photo.

Hope you like it too...
Have a great week!

Today's Flower - Anthuriums

My fourth entry for Today’s Flower is just one of the species of the large genus Anthurium that belongs to the Arum family.

Anthurium is also called as “Flamingo Flower” or “Boy Flower” because of its structure. It grows in many forms it can be bushy or climbing epiphytes (epiphytes are plants that grow upon another plant or trees).

Anthuriums flowers are hermaphrodite, containing male and female flowers about 3mm small crowded in a spike called spandix the outer portion is called spathe a modified bract that is leathery in texture. Others have mistaken the “spathe” as the flower but it is not, the flowers are solely found on the “spandix”.

I'm Free!

Finally the 3-day seminar workshop is over. I'm so relieved now that my brain finally has a rest from thinking and brain storming about the workshop for now until this weekend. My brain will resume working again on Monday upon reporting at the office in Iligan City.

We'll be taking the 9:30AM flight tomorrow for Cagayan de Oro City and need to drop by at Dept. of Foreign Affairs to get my passport. My husband will meet me tomorrow at CDO and we'll be going home together.

Stressed Out on Seminar Workshop

Monday October 19, 2009 together with my colleagues from MSO we boarded our scheduled flight to Metro Manila to attend the 3-day workshop on Stadardization of SO Procedures starting Tuesday October 20 to Thursday October 22, 2009 and with a return flight on Friday October 23, 2009.

Today we are already on our 2nd day of the very tiring workshop. Everybody has to participate and extract brains to come up with a common goal, common standards. So that makes me so stressed out that I don't want to see and open my laptop to post something here. I wasn't able to do my drops for many days now, wasn't able to visit friends sites and post comments.

You may wonder why I had one post today, because I want a break on this nauseating activity and relieve my stress by visiting my site good thing that our seminar venue is wifi ready.

Sorry guys I'll make up to all of you as soon as this activity will be over I'll do my drops and visit your sites later.

Have A Nice Day!

Mellow Yellow Monday # 2

My 2nd Mellow Yellow Monday entry is also a flower, but this time I wasn't able to research about it so that makes it nameless for today. If anyone knows the name of this very common flower I'll really appreciate it if you tell me so I don't have to make my research.

Thanks! Have a nice day!

Tattooed Face

My yesterday's post was about Bamboo's concert here in Iligan City last September 28, 2009.

Globe's temporary tattoos came with the purchase of new Globe Sim and it should be placed either on the face or arm. In our case we chose to place it on our face for much emphasis and "a preferably" for VIPs.
(That's the reward when you have a friend working with the sponsor, an enjoyment of a free VIP pass. LOL!)

As an evidence that we actually went to watch the show here's our tattooed face simply layouted on a 5x7 canvass with pictures taken after the concert @ one of the local coffee shop.

First Try on Concert Photography

Yehey! I finally selected some from the 4GB full of RAW concert photos, my first try on concert photography.
My best friend Nice invited me to a concert featuring two (2) of our country’s popular band, Bamboo and Sugarfree last September 28, 2009.

A good as free concert sponsored by Globe Tattoo because all the audience did was to buy a new Globe Tattoo Sim at P45.00, waited for the sim confirmation and viola! a free pass. (That is why the gymnasium was full of spectators especially college students.)

But in my case I didn’t have to buy a tattoo SIM, I had a free VIP pass too! Well it is because of my friend LOL. Thanks Nice! Mwah!

Here’s some of my choice as best shots I had during the event.

First Installment - BAMBOO

Too bad I wasn’t able to position my self near the stage. I could have gotten a better close-up shots. huh!

Love to hear comments/critics from all of you!

Thanks & Enjoy!

Mellow Yellow Monday # 1 - Favorite Hibiscus

I was looking into my files for a yellow flower to be posted as my first share on

Mellow Yellow Monday, but it seems that I have posted already most of it.

(huh! I sure do need to explore more and take photographs of anything under the sun.)

So since I can’t find any, I just have to pick up from my previous post a yellow hibiscus.

I makes me happy to always look back on this very vibrant colored flower that I luckily shot at Zamboanga City.

I love the color, I love yellow!

Hope you like it too.

Today's Flower: Bougainvillea

My share today is a very spectacular Brazilian beauty flowering plant that is quite abundant around the world and popularly known as Bougainvillea.

Bougainvillea is said to have been discovered in 1768 in Brazil. It has thorny shrubby vines that grow from 1 – 12 meters tall. The blooms that we know are not true flowers but papery bracts that surround the cluster of three small white tubular flowers

So here are two the abundant Bougainvillea species that I had photographed in Cagayan de Oro Botanical Garden.

Hope you like it! Enjoy!

My First Skywatch Friday

Hello Everyone! I just came back from a 2-day seminar held at our company’s headquarters in Metro Manila.

Oooopss! I was able to make a few EC drops but wasn’t able to write a post yet until now because I have to prepare my report since it’s already Friday, my busiest day at work. I’d prepared my travel reimbursement documents also, so that makes me a very very busy bee today.

But anyways, here’s some of recap of what I did in Metro Manila. Hmmm let me see, I attended a seminar/workshop on Quality Management System Documentation Development my main purpose, an 8am to 5pm hectic activity.

After 5pm on Wednesday I was able to meet my friends and had long chit chat about everything. They updated me on the latest happenings since the day I left head office a year ago until yesterday.

Huh! I missed those days living on the busiest city in the Philippines, I missed my friends there and I felt so happy that I was able to see them again even on a shortest time.

*******

I came across a site called "Skywatch Friday" that features different faces of sky, I was curious and started reading and exploring the site. Skywatch Friday is a place where you can enjoy the beauty of the skies captured from around the globe.

Here's my first share, a wooden electrical tower stands mightily under the blue sky.

I took this photo just outside our office @ Iligan City, Philippines.

The sky is beautiful here in our province in Mindanao while North Luzon in suffering from heavy rain brought by typhoon Pepeng. May the Lord, help our countrymen who are affected so that they can surpass this calamity, this trial.

Diyandi Festival 2009

Diyandi Festival is an annual event of merry making and celebration to honor the City’s Patron Saint St. Michael Archangel. The feast falls every 29th of September, but each day of the whole month of September has lined up activities organized by the city government. One of the main event and most loved by Iliganons is the Kasadya Streetdancing and Merrymaking. Students from different schools, barangays and even from nearby towns came to join this yearly competition showcasing colorful costumes, props and graceful performance to vie for the P 200,000.00 cash prize for the over-all champion.

The Kasadya contingents gathered from Iligan Port routing the main street of Iligan city proper, then halted on some areas were judges
posted to have their performance and after which they proceeded to the Amphitheater Ground @ the Iligan City Hall where each contingent had their final "showdown".

The sky started to sprinkle rain at the midst of the street performance, I don’t have an umbrella with me so I had to cover myself and of course my camera (I can’t afford to have my gadget rain soaked LOL!) but still I managed to cap
ture some snapshots so here are they and hope you’ll enjoy the colors and smiles of the participants.
