DIY Super Macro - Yellow Capsules

Since super macro lens is so expensive and we can’t afford it, hubby and I experimented a do-it-yourself super macro. We used an extension tube and 18-55 kit lens and set the camera and lens in manual mode.

My husband picked a branch of flowers outside our apartment and we did a series of experiments. This one is the best we got so far.

I handled the camera while hubby illuminated the object using an LED flashlight.

And this is the actual object, the macro shot was the yellow capsules/fruit of this nameless flower (sorry wasn't able to do my flower name research).

  1. Extension tubes are a tried and true method for macro photography and cheap too. I like the abstract look of the first. You want to get a good tripod too. Best tool for macro. Thanks for your visit.

  2. Not too bad at all. Crazy how simple means can work so well.

  3. Nice idea sissy. Your shots are not bad at all, as long as happy ka sa ginawa mo and sa kinalabasan nito. The most important things are your feelings, emotions and patience while taking these photos.

    Have a nice day ahead.
