Little Butterfly

Miss Duranta had a little visitor.
I kept on snapping and he didn't mind,
he never paid attention because
he's so busy sipping the nectar.

Thank you little one for posing for me this afternoon.

Airbus + Good Weather

Unlike our flight from Cagayan de Oro to Davao City, our return flight on Wednesday was quite fine because the weather in Davao City was pleasant. But because of the approaching typhoon, Northern Mindanao had experienced rain shower, as well as Cebu City which made us wait until 7:30PM for our flight that was supposedly scheduled at 4:30PM. (As far as I know the Airphil flight route is Cebu-Cagayan de Oro-Davao City and VV.)

But even though the flight was delayed for three hours, at least we had a smooth travel because the airline had sent instead of the usual Q400 propeller type aircraft, but an airbus just like in the picture above.

No shaky feel and no turbulence but a smooth flight back home. :)

Staying at the Apo View Hotel

Whenever we are in Davao City we usually stay at either the Apo View Hotel or the Gran Men Seng Hotel. These are some of the hotels that are affiliated with the company we worked for.

The business trip we had this week made us stay again in the first hotel in Davao City and second oldest hotel in the Philippines, the Apo View Hotel for two nights, and I spent it in this room.

Indeed, Apo View gives us luxurious amenities, the flaw I can think of is the elevator maybe because of old age and their air freshener, it stinks! I hope they'll do something about it. It made me want to throw up whenever I'm in the elevator.

I also love the decor they have, just like this driftwood with a lot of orchids flowers. It really shows that Davao is not only known for the durians but also the abundant orchid flowers.

How I wish I can grow pretty orchids, but I think I don't have the green thumb. Most of the plants I planted did not survived. :(

Flight to Davao

This is how the sky looks like when we took off from Cagayan de Oro City Airport on Monday afternoon.

As usual the flight to Davao City was shaky and full of turbulence especially above Mt. Kitanglad in Bukidnon. Thank God! We arrived safe in spite of the gloomy skies.

Goodbye 1000D! Welcome 60D

I'm saying goodbye to my first love, my Canon 1000D, his time is up, the errors keep on coming and the pop-flash won't work anymore.  His quality service to me will finally end after four years.

After saving up for my WANT for a long time, finally she's here, my new boyfriend, my new Canon 60D DSLR Camera with 18-135mm kit lens. Yippee!

I been wishing for her for quite some time now, in fact she's in my birthday wishlist for 2 years.

Too excited... I pointed the lens to anything I see around me. But I chose to share the following taken from our front yard with no tweaks just straight from the camera, no particular setting, only the picture mode was set at "P".

 The yellow okra flower

The violet flower that I seldom get the right color when photograph. But with 60D it turn out well. A little practice with the setting, I think I'll be able to get it right.

Dry weeds, I was trying to focus the Christmas tree like branches but to no avail, I think a different lens will do.

 The papaya leaves.

The Croton plant, locally known as San Francisco plant. It has tiny flowers. I took a macro shot of this flower sometime ago here

The flower turn out well, after cropping the above picture.

It will take me forever to master this new gadget, but I think I'll do great in the distant future. For now, I'll take it one step at a time. Goodluck to me!
