Christmas Decors at the Malls
As much as we want to dress up our home with beautiful Christmas decorations, we simply can't because of some reasons, like house space, budget and time. We have no choice but to settle on simple Christmas wreaths and ornaments. Hopefully by next year we'll be able to find time and budget to decorate our home with style and elegance.
For now we are very much contented just by looking at stunning decorations outside our home like those found in shopping malls.
Here's what I saw at the two shopping malls in the city.
Many have forgotten what the season is all about. The "Nativity" decor at SM Cagayan de Oro City will remind us that Christmas is the celebration of the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.
I think the church replica, also at SM CDO depicts the Filipino Tradition of "Simbang Gabi". Simbang Gabi is a devotional mass in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is a 9-day series mass which starts early morning of December 16th until December 24th.
And of course, who will ignore this tall Christmas Tree at the Center of Lim Ket Kai Mall also here in Cagayan de Oro City.
Having a Nativity scene and a Christmas Tree at home is my goal next year. I hope it will come true.
Merry Christmas Everyone!

"Our precious little Angel, we will always love you, you are in our hearts Forever"
Early morning of November 1, 2013, we went to visit our Angel's resting place, offered flowers, candle, prayers and our unending love to our little girl that we never got a chance to see alive and moving. She was choosen by our Almighty God to be one of his angels even before she was born.
She is up there for than a year now watching over us everyday.

Sail to Freedom
"I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for
everything I do. I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them
tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am
free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do."

I Believe in Pink
I
believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I
believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when
everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the
prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in
miracles.

No Boundaries
When
we look up, it widens our horizons.
We see what a little speck we are
in the universe, so insignificant, and we all take ourselves so
seriously, but in the sky, there are no boundaries.
No differences of
caste or religion or race.

Yellow-Pinkish Spathoglottis Plicata
Spathoglottis Plicata also commonly known as Philippine Ground Orchid is terrestrial and perennial plant that are native to Southeast Asia.
The non-fragrant flowers can reach the size up to 4cm. Since it is a tropical orchid it requires warm - hot, humid climate and is best cultivated in full sun to partial shade.
But because of climate change, where in the sun is so hot most of the day in the Philippines it is better to grow these pretties in a partial shade areas.

A Perfect Empty Canvas
The
sky, a perfect empty canvas, offers clouds nonetheless. They shift and

Yellow Vanda Orchid
These flowers are very abundant in Davao City, in fact this branch of yellow Vanda orchid was photographed in one fine morning while having breakfast at Grand Regal Hotel, Davao City.
They used the flower as an ornament in every dining table.

Uniquely Violet
I saw this violet flower at one of the gardens that sell plants in Bulua West Bound Terminal, Cagayan de Oro City. I wonder what it's called, I asked the young girl who sells this pretty flower, but unfortunately she don't know either.
Unique isn't she? I hope I was able to capture her nicely even using only my smartphone. :)

Jet Skis at the Distance
There were jet skis at the distance but my smartphone has no optical zoom capability to capture them. Instead, blue sky and scattered clouds + part of the bridge were seen in this shot.
Took the photo while on board a van on a bright mid day of August 28, 2013 after we had lunch at my officemate's abode to celebrate the Feast of St. Augustine.

I Have Gerberas!
True! I now have these pretties at home, although the flowers have already withered but the mother plants are surviving.

continue to grow, multiply and give us more more blooms in coming days.

Get up, go outside and enjoy the beautiful morning brought by a very good weather in this part of the world.
In few minutes I'll be leaving for work. The last working day of the week and tomorrow will be Saturday, time for my dearest Family. I do hope my boss will spare me and won't oblige me to have an overtime tomorrow.

Mums + Recycled Flower Pots
Remember my trip last week at Lim Ket Kai Mall, Plants and Flowers Garden Display Area wherein I bought flowering plants like Lilium Stargazers, Gerberas and Mums? So far after a week, they are still alive and flourishing especially the Mums.
I actually bought 4 different colors of mums at P75.00 ($1.75) per pot. There were a lot of colors available for sale but I chose only four, the most I can afford and these were;
of Orange or Rust and Yellow Shade
Bright Yellow
Lilac/Lavender Shade
and Red Maroon
Hubby and I replanted them in another container. Instead of buying plastic pots we decided to recycle empty plastic water bottles. We have a lot of them at home because these were the used purified drinking water bottles that our son had consumed.
Hubby cut the lower portion of the bottle (above the first ring) using scissors then bored holes at the bottom.
This is how the empty recycled pot looks like...
Recycled pot with garden soil...
And finally the replanted mums in the recycled plastic pots.
Instead of throwing them away, these empty bottles were put into good use.

Satti de Zamboanga
After I received my "travel order" to Zamboanga City, my birthplace, my hometown (thanks for the free trip), I
immediately called up my older brother and told him that I am coming over and asked him to take me to a “Satti House”. The last time I had this spicy spirit
kicking dish was years ago. I can’t really remember the exact figure, and I
almost forgot that this delicious dish has ever existed.

| Spicy Satti @ P50.00 per serve |
Satti is a local dish that is served with puśo (wrapped
rice), sticks of roasted beef or chicken meat + overflowing with thick hot and spicy
curry chilli sauce that is usually served early in the morning. You can rarely
find satti available by lunch time.
Anyway, we (my boss + 1 colleague) arrived on Tuesday July 30, 2013, 8AM on board
Cebu Pacific from Cagayan de Oro City. My brother was supposed to picked me up
at the hotel around 9AM and go directly to “Satti House”, unfortunately our
schedule had changed, my boss asked me to stay for a while because were
meeting one of our applicants and later had our lunch at Alavar Seafood Restaurant
were we had the famous curacha.
The satti feast was slashed off that day. I thought I won’t
be able to eat what I’m craving for during the trip because the only opportunity
we had was on the first day, the 2nd day will be devoted to main
purpose why we went to Zamboanga, a whole-day business meeting and then fly
back to CDO on the 3rd.
But guessed what? Good luck was on our side, because our business
meeting host fetched us at the hotel early morning before the meeting and
brought us to Andy’s Satti in Tetuan, Zamboanga City. All smile for me! Lol I thought I had a no-satti trip but I was wrong! Woot hooo!
Satti is really a famous dish to locals and tourists. From Christians
to Muslims, students, workers to those who had hangover, satti is the most
satisfying and energizing breakfast. So
if you are in Zamboanga City don’t
forget to try the spicy satti and I’m sure it will really perk up your day!
