Every time I get to visit a place for free,
I always thank my mother company for the opportunity. That is one of the perks
a corporate employee gets. On March 15, 2015, together with a few of my
colleagues flew to South Luzon, particularly Laguna for a one week company
sponsored event. The activity may be very tiring but at the same time fun and
healthy. Because it was a sports competition for the benefits of the employees
and a sort of bonding and getting to know each other for the employees in the
corporation who are assigned in different areas in the Philippines.
So sum it up, a week of fun + the extra fun
because we stayed inside the 2,290 hectare Nuvali (Eco City Development), Sta. Rosa,
Laguna. And when you are in Nuvali there are a lot of things you can do and
enjoy, and among those, are stated below; Our very own checklist.
1. Stay at the relaxing SEDA Hotel
Because we were there on official business,
we were booked at the renowned Seda Hotel inside Nuvali. It was actually my
second time to stay at SedaHotels, the first one was in Davao. Seda Hotels are
pretty much the same with their other branches, they offer clean, comfortable,
and relaxing stay + plus the delicious buffet breakfast. Because the hotel is
located in the middle of the vast land of Nuvali, it is the most convenient
place to stay if you want to try the rest of the activities mentioned here.
2. Fish Feeding
Nuvali has a lot to offer and one of the
must do activity is the fish feeding along the man-made lake. In a normal scene you’ll get to see few koi
fishes swimming near the banks, but when you start throwing pellets, you’ll get
to see how plenty they are clashing each other just to get a share. At P15.00
per pack, you’ll already enjoy watching these colorful and lively fishes.

3. Water Taxi Ride
After the fish feeding, be sure to take the
water taxi ride. At P30/person minimum of 6 you got to enjoy a round trip boat
ride from the starting point and back in the 4-hectare lake. You can ask the
driver to sway the boat a bit for a much exciting ride, just like what we did.

4. Biking Along the Lake

While some of our colleagues took refuge in
the nearby coffee shop, the three of us went out and tried maneuvering the
bike. At P60/hour rental, you’ll be able to enjoy few rounds bike rides along
the lake. In our case, we only had one round of the bike ride, because of the
several stops we made for the pictorials, never minding the flaming sun rays
touching our skin at 11AM in the morning.

5. Shopping Galore
Inside Nuvali, there is a haven of stores
carrying notable brands, that’s in Solenad 2. Adidas, All Flipflops, Payless
are some of the stores I frequent here in Cagayan de Oro City and of course I
found them there as well.

| Paseo de Sta Rosa |
But, because we kept on passing by along
the Paseo de Sta. Rosa every time we went to BiƱan, we don’t want that our one
week in Laguna will end without stopping at the well-known outlet stores destination.
After all, Paseo de Sta Rosa is only a tricycle ride from Nuvali. As expected,
shopping galore without second thinking happened. While my colleagues went for
the Nike, Adidas, etc., I took another turn and bought few items from Bambu,
Juego Sports and Skechers.
6. Dine Out
While Solenad 2 carries mostly branded
shops, Solenad 1 is the home of diners and bistros. A great dining destination
indeed, though there are few also at Solenad 2 like the SomuSam Japanese Restaurant
where our boss took us for dinner.
Our one week stay in Laguna was very
fruitful. In fact, we wanted to extend our stay, but because free travel has
limitations, then we have no choice but to fly back to Mindanao on Saturday,
March 21, 2015. Nevertheless, it was one activity that was full of fun and
excitement, and I do hope that there will be the same activity next year.

ReplyDeleteWe had a field trip before and Nuvali was one of the stops. We actually didn't do anything there but to sit on the grassy area for an hour. If only I saw this earlier then, we would created an itinerary.
