Sunrise and Sun Rays

Today I had to dig out photos from my archive because I've been a slacker lately and I wasn't able to go out and capture sky moments.

Here's a sunrise scene that I have took on my early days as a Canon DSLR user. A morning scene I had captured at my previous work place last year. I was on graveyard shift that time so I was able to catch the sun as it rises to spread his light upon us.

I've experimented for the right setting but I was not fortunate, I had an overexposed photo as a result. Anyways if the camera can't do the trick maybe photoshop can. So here's a good sample (I think) though I played around only on PS levels and curves and Viola! I had this one. Hope this is good enough.

Happy Friday!

  1. Wow, good enough indeed! I love it. I am also a Canon DSLR user. I love mine. I'm by no means a professional but I feel that with an automatic setting you don't really have to be most of the time. :)

Thanks so much for playing along with us. Have a great weekend.

  4. Absolutely beautiful capture, January, such wonderful colors! I only took up photography a little over a year ago and I'm still such an amateur! But I love my Canon Power Shot and hope I'll continue to learn. Wishing you a lovely weekend!

  5. I always say practice makes perfect. I am not a pro either, hehehe, but I have a tutor! I hardly use PS for editing, only the software that came with mine.

This shot, I hardly see any distortion. Great photo.

  13. It is a good capture. The color of the sky during sunrise and sunset is nothing short of awesome and it is able to keep our interest eventhough we see it every day :)
