The Little Flyer

While on board a RORO (roll-on roll of) vesselto Island Garden City of Samal, I saw a lot of little flyers diving into the water.

I chose one to point my lens at, and this little guy is the lucky one. I've waited for him to do his thing, he flew mighty and proud before hitting the water and to catch his prey.

But because I don't have a powerful lens with me this is the only shot I got when he lunged into the deep blue sea.

Was he able to catch his prey? I did not saw it clearly... In he did not, I know he'll do the routine over and over again.

The Orange Bougainvillae

Bougainvilleas are abundant in the Philippines, you can find them anywhere. Though they have spiky thorns but they never fail to give us beautiful colored bracts surrounding their tiny white cluster of three flowers.

I have seen few shades of Bougainvillea, this time I found an orange one.

The Yellow Cathleya

If only I have my own garden, my own home I would have bought this pretty flower. I was in love with her when I saw her at SM Davao City but resisted myself because I know I cannot take care of her as of now. Maybe someday I'll be able to buy one and place her in my front yard but for now, I settled by just taking her photo.

Here she is Miss Pretty Yellow Cathleya.

Delicate Pink Orchid

Uncle Ben: Have you ever seen an orchid; how it floats in the water, so delicate and beautiful? When a woman gets an orchid; it's, well she feels like she's floating on a cloud of infinite possibility.

Airbus A320-200

Here's some snaps of an Airbus A320-200 domestic aircraft of Airphil Express when it landed at Davao City International Airport from Cebu City. Airphil Express formerly Air Philippines, PAL Express is one of the two low-cost airline in the Philippines, aside from the well known promo favorite Cebu Pacific Air.

Up Close Guzmania

Hello friends, I'm back online after 5-days vacation. My share for today is a pretty flowering plant straight from Davao City and her name is Guzmania.

According to wikipedia, Guzmania is a genus of the botanical family Bromeliaceae, subfamily Tillandsioideae. The genus name is for Anastasio Guzman, a Spanish pharmacist and naturalist.

Guzmania has different species under her just like this pretty one that i do not know the surname.

A pretty flowering plant that I had a chance to photographed inside SM City Davao.

The Corrugated Bougainvillea

I remember my mom called this type of bougainvillea as a corrugated bougainvillea because of the uneven distribution of colors on the bracts, i.e having more colors than the usual single colored bracts just like the photo above with pink-white combination.

I searched the web for the plant's real name but have not found any. So I guess for now, the name my mom told me before will prevail until I'll found out what really it is.

The pink and white bougainvillea is very pretty how about having a little tweaks by converting it to black and white and sepia. Let's see the results...

sepia

black and white

Hmmm... quite interesting but I still love the colored one. How about you?

The Dancing Ladies

I always dream to have my own house, my own home and when that time comes I will surely dress it up with these lovely dancing ladies, an orchid under the Oncidium family. These lovely flowers resemble a lady wearing yellow skirt with arms outstretched. Wait for slight wind moving the flowers and you’ll see a troupe of ladies dancing in the air.

This photo was taken at a friend's home using Canon 1000D kit.
