Amplaya is the local name of Momordica charantia widely known as the bitter gourd or bitter melon in English.
The flower is too pretty, who would believe that a vine with pretty flower like this will bear a warty looking fruit and with bitter taste.

It always amazes me that such a beautiful flower can come from a fruit or vegetable plant. Thank you very much for sharing with Today's Flowers. I am sorry I haven't been by before but I have had family staying with us this past week, and spent very little time on the computer. Have a great weekend!
