Flowers for Our Dearly Departed

I have been doing the same flower arrangement for a few times already, because this is the only arrangement I can think of that can fit our Angel’s little apartment at Divine Shepherd Memorial.

Our angel that we've 2 years ago...

The rest of the flowers I bought 2 days before, were also arranged in a separate container (an empty water bottle cut to an appropriate size), intended for my parent’s in law who rested in Bukidnon.

Our original plan was to visit Angel’s grave before 6:00 AM, so that by past 7:00 AM we’re already off to Bukidnon. But the plan had changed, though we did go to Divine Shepherd 5:30AM but instead of taking off for Bukidnon after, hubby and I had to take our son to the hospital for a laboratory test (complete blood count), and take the result to the doctor for consultation. The little boy was with fever again, a returning fever after 4 days from recovery, we needed to make sure what causes his fever. Because we were unsure if we can make the trip, hubby decided to send the flowers and candles to his sister ahead.

By 12NN after our boy’s check-up (thank God that it was not dengue, that I am so afraid of), the four of us + the little girl’s nanny went to Bukidnon.

Arrived in Cabanglasan at 4PM, we headed to the cemetery first before going to brother in law’s place where we spent the night.

Lit the candles, said our prayers and took a snap of the arrangement that I have made.

I was supposed to cover the base with colored cellophane early morning before transporting it, unfortunately,  my mind had lost track and focused only on my son’s welfare.

Anyway, the arrangement need not to be grand what is important is the thought right?

  1. The flower arrangement is nice Sis, my sister did her own style and flower arrangements for our Dad's burial. It's been 6 years since the last time I lit candle for my Papa, missed him dearly and all my friends back in Valencia, Bukidnon.

  3. Nice arrangments, Janz! The ready-made flower arrangements are really expensive. We just buy the flowers and some of them, we get from our garden.

  5. Yes sis. I hope your son is okay. We were almost on the same boat pala. Matt had a recurring fever that last just a day lang naman. I was paranoid already thinking of the worst, dengue. Thank God he's okay now.
