One of the usual things we do when
traveling with the boss on business trips is checking out and dining in one of
the known local restaurants in the city. Last week, together with my boss and 3
other colleagues went to Butuan City to attend the quarterly coordination
meeting with our partners in the power industry. The meeting went smoothly as we
finished all the tasks and discussions ahead of time, and had more time to
relax since our trip back home was still on the following day.

On the rainy evening of January 7, 2015 five
of us on board our service vehicle, went to restaurant hunting until realizing
that I have internet connection with me. I googled for the nearest and best
seafood restaurant in town and found two listed on the net the “Island Seafood Restaurant”
and “Rosario’s Seafood Restaurant” none of us have tried to dine in either of
the two. So we decided, whichever is the nearest from our location based on the
GPS and landed at the Rosario’s Seafood Restaurant.

Basically, we wanted crabs for dinner. Per
the suggestion of the waiter the “Fried with Salt & Pepper” crab is the
best among others. We ordered 3 crabs with a total weight of 1.4 kilograms
alongside with chopsuey, “sinigang na lapu-lapu” and also one of their specialties,
the “lechon Macau” after all it’s a Chinese restaurant as well.
A few minutes later, the “sinigang na lapu-lapu”
and rice were served followed by the most awaited “fried in salt and pepper
crab”. Everyone seems to be very excited because after I took some snaps hands
dug in and took the pieces to munch without waiting for the rest of the dishes.
The crabs were breaded and fried with
seasoning and spices. Though I still prefer the steamed crabs, but this one
really taste delicious and inviting that you will not stop until there’s none
left.
Then, came the chopsuey and the lechon Macau.

One of my favorite vegetable cuisines is the
chopsuey, it seems okay or maybe I just can’t determine the taste because I was
so overwhelmed with the crabs but the “lechon Macua” really is one must try
dish. It was very tasty and crispy. I had
to search for a recipe and try cooking it at home.
Our dinner was truly satisfying, the food
serving were more than enough for the 3 guys and me. Overall the foods were
great and the service is good except the cracked plate on the table which the
waiter gladly replaced it after I asked him so.
With the 1.4 kg crabs (P100/100g), sinigang
lapu-lapu, chopsuey, lechonM acau, rice and drinks our total bill was
P2,690.00. Our boss paid the bill, so there was no need for me to worry about
it.
Wow, I'm drooling with what you had at that Seafood Restaurant. It must really be a special lunch. Sea foods are also my favorites...may kamahalan nga lang. :)
