2015 Summer Fun @ Midway White Beach Resort

Friends are truly friends, even with the distance. As much as possible, we wanted to bond when time allows us, and that’s what had happened on April 10 & 11, 2015. One of our friends who’s currently working in Cebu City came home for his son’s college graduation, and because of his one week vacation in Iligan City, we managed to set-up a get together after many years of no summer outing. The rest of the gang together with their families and us the whole family (coming from Cagayan de Oro) met halfway at Midway White Beach Resort at Initao, Misamis Oriental.

We arrived at the Resort on Friday around 7:30-8:00 in the evening. Each one of us has commitments at the early time of the day and those commitments should be done before the much awaited vacation, for us to fully enjoy our time minus all the work and worries for the time being. It was a simple gathering, for the whole barkada but sadly, the three of them, which we hoped to join us, had other commitments.

By the time we arrived the food was already set-up, the roasted pig “lechon baboy” that never miss the list was already waiting for us to devour. At 3k budget, Nyc was able to get about 20kg whole lechon for us, an ideal size with enough leftovers for the lechon paksiw the following day.

Though, we slept very late that night we still woke up early the following day. The kids needed to enjoy the clear sea water before the hours when the heat of the sun is too harsh to the skin.

We were overwhelmed how the resort had developed over the years. The old ruined spot where we had our pre-nuptial pictorial back in 2008 was already converted into a pool. The cottages were also renovated and additional rooms such as the dormitory type are already available. Swimming pool for kids, the Jacuzzi, plus a lot of water adventures are available for guests to enjoy.

Midway White Beach is indeed a very ideal resort to spend summer within this part of Mindanao. White sand, clear water and where the sunset is at best. The problem is that there are still big boulders of corals in the beach, one must find a good spot to enjoy swimming without bumping into those “pagang” or corals.

Our short vacation, was indeed a memorable one. We reserved a room that is good for 15 persons at P5,200.00 with free breakfast, near the kiddie pool and the Jacuzzi, had our lechon paksiw and grilled fish for lunch and most importantly the time we spent together with our family and friends is priceless.

Next summer, we are planning another get together and maybe a road trip to Surigao is the adventure to consider.

  3. I want to experience beach like you guys did! Few days ago, I went to one, but it's stupid of me not to bring any clothes. Well, I was there to just really tour around but this fiance of mine brought me there so I just had to enjoy the scene at 12 noon where it was so hot and I can't swim. :(

  8. Nice beach sis. We went also to the beach last weekend. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to swim at the beach, instead we dumped in the hotel's pool. Matthew refused to swim na the next day na dapat sched namin to swim sa beach e. Nasugat kasi paa nya sa pool.
