Watery Vinca Flowers

This is an overdue post, supposedly posted after Christmas but because of the holiday hangover and last minute rush I wasn't able to. Anyway, it's better late that never. 

I'm sharing to you these water drenched vinca flowers in our frontyard, taken on early morning of Christmas Day. Yep! It rained that time because of the Low Pressure Area cruising in the southern part on Mindanao, Philippines. 

Flowers, leaves are beautiful sights especially when they are watery because of the rain.

Spider Lilies

I do not know the exact name of this flower, but I'm pretty sure that this belongs in the lily family. Since it looks like spiders because of the slim petals, I tried to google it using the name "spider lily".  Luckily luck, I found her, it is indeed named Spider Lily!

Petite and Delicate

I really want to have my own garden, with lots and lots of flowering plants. But at present I can't do that because we don't have our own house yet. For now, I settled on buying flowering plants in pots so that if the time comes that we have to move out, it's easier to take everything with us.

One of the most common flowering plant that I see on gardens these days are those with white petite and delicate flowers, like the picture below. As long as it is under the sun, it will never run out of flowers.

Now what! I can't even remember the name...I should ask again next time I'll do my plant shopping at Bulua Terminal.

Vinca or Periwinkle

All I know that this flower is called Vinca, but after blog hopping I read about the same flower in another blog, and she called it periwinkle. To clear my confusion, I had to searched the internet and had found out that this flowering plant can be called either vinca or periwinkle.

This flowers are quite abundant around the house (newly rented house), at first I wondered how this plants had multiplied. I can see them almost anywhere inside our perimeter then I realized that this plant has seeds. Hubby found a jar full of seeds at the back of the house. Although some variety can be propagated by cuttings but most of them are grown with seeds.

I wished there are other varieties available, but as of now we have the pure white and the fuchsia pink variety.

Relaxing Midday Scene

Hairy Crown Flower

At first, I thought this hairy flower is from a fruit bearing plant "guava" but after scrutinizing it closely, I found out that it's some kind of ornamental plant. And as usual I do not what it's called.

On times like this, doing some sort of flower name guessing, I always remember my mom who knows a lot about flowers, and she had memorized most of them but she's gone now I can't ask her anymore.

So for now, I'm doing another flower naming game and this time I'll name this pretty one as "hairy crown flower", agree? lol...

By the way the the next picture is on her bud stage, a bead like flower that turn into a messy hair flower. cute isn't it?

Since, I'm already doing some sort of game here, how about I'll some more twist by converting the first photo into sepia and black and white. Which to you think had stood out?
