Another chapter of my life has begun, and today I want to start writing a story. My story, Our Story.
Last week June 29, 2009 the long wait has started to end when our boss called us to proceed to Iligan City to sign-up a new employment contract with the new management if "we will be able to receive one". Four of us from ZACC boarded the 9PM bus from Zamboanga City to Iligan City, carrying with heavy burdens of worries if we will be hire or not.
The following day June 30, 2009, we proceeded to our regional office to meet our boss, our Assistant Vice President for System Operations. I was the first one to be called in our group and advised to proceed at the conference room. My worries, my nervousness sped up and I felt like I was carrying hundred tons of load. "Why I was the first one to be called?? "a question that bugged my mind, I was frightened that I'll end up jobless the following day since other employees called earlier are the unslotted personnel, the not so lucky to be retained in the new company. So I entered the conference room and waited for instructions. After a while other fellow employees from other planning division came in. Our boss started to discuss about the new Table of Organization and then distributed green folders with the new company's logo on it. I received mine and nervously opened it (not knowing what is written inside). The first page was a a letter signed by our new CEO I saw my name in it and my heart jumped with joy, alas the agony of waiting is over the letter states that I got rehired. Wow I can't describe the happiness I had, my fear of waking up the following day as unemployed has washed out.
I scanned the rest of the documents inside the green folder and in it was a new employment contract to be signed, a new company policy to read and be familiar with, an employment form to be filled up and my new job description. I was given an engineer position for operations planning based in Iligan City that means I'll be leaving my existing post as a power system load dispatcher in Zamboanga City.
I was very thankful that I was transferred back to Iligan City, because my husband is also working here that means we will be living together now after a year apart from each other.
With the new private firm, we will be expecting great changes, different working environment, more strict rules compared to our previous government controlled corporation, and as part of it, great challenges awaits us and we are willing to accept it with open heart because we are now looking forward to a new dream, new life together with our new family the "NGCP Family".
