Gerbera daisies are perrenial plants that belong in the genus of sunflower. They have large colorful blooms of yellow, pink, white, orange and red. Gerbera is also rank 5th in the most used cut flowers in the world.
Last Friday, I had a chance to visit the newly opened Rustans Fresh Supermarket in Centrio Ayala Mall here in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines. And aside from the fresh fruits, vegetables and meat, I spotted these pretties displayed on their fresh flower stall.

Hurriedly, I went closer and took some snaps using my ever reliable smartphone Samsung Galaxy S2. The macro setting of the phone's camera did a great job in capturing these lovely blooms.

The last time I had a close encounter with gerbera was during my wedding, I had a spring inspired bouquet, and one of the flowers in the bouquet were gerberas.
