Christmas Lantern Made from Recycled Materials Contest
Our department’s Christmas committee this year came up with
a "Lantern Contest" to be participated by the six divisions under the Operation’s
department, the office of the head, janitorial and security. Each group was
tasked to plot their wild and creative ideas and turn it into a Christmas
lantern made of recycled materials.
After more than a week of planning, researching and trial
and errors, each of the groups had finally submitted their work of art, and are
now hanging along the staircase of our office building. Here they are, the most
creative lanterns made of combined ideas coming from the engineers, technicians,
office staffs, janitors and the security guards;
Entry # 1 (Janitorial Services)
Christmas lantern made from empty bottles of hand wash and hand sanitizer, plastic spoons and rugs.
Entry # 2 (Security)
Christmas lantern made of plastic sando bags.
Entry # 3 (NTD)
Christmas lantern made from sinamay abaca fiber and corn husks.
Entry # 4 (NPD)
Christmas lantern made from scratch papers.
Entry # 5 (PNPD)
Christmas lantern made from empty Coca Cola 1.5L and Mismo plastic bottles with plastic spoons as center pieces.
Entry # 6 (ODH)
Christmas lantern made from local courier's used plastic pouch.
Entry # 7 (SED)
Christmas lantern made from paper plates, plastic cups, straws and tissue papers.
Entry # 8 (SIOMD)
Christmas lantern made from newspapers.
Entry # 9 (NOD)
Christmas lantern made from bondpaper wrap and newspapers.
Judging of entries was done on Friday afternoon,
December 12, 2014, with co-employees coming from the other department as judges.
Each group gave their best shot, but only three lanterns
will win and received the a P3000 cash for the 3rd prize, P4000 for
the 2nd and a whooping P5000 for the grand winner.
The announcement will be made on Thursday, December 18, 2014
during our department’s party.
We are crossing our fingers here, our hopes may be down
because the other group’s entries came out beautiful than ours. But who knows,
our lantern is more pleasing to the eyes of the judges right?
Let’s see…
Wonderful Christmas decorations !
ReplyDeleteHi Janz,
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of bringing Christmas into the work place, and although I'm all about blue, I especially love seeing the nativity as part of some of the hangings. Thanks for playing today.
Happy Blue Monday!
